Cachagua Community Task Force

The Cachagua Community Taskforce members are neighbors concerned about the issues raised during the Basin Complex Fire of 2008.

The Taskforce is open to anyone who wishes to join. To contact us, click here. Or simply come to the next Taskforce meeting and request to join.  Meetings are always on the last Thursday of the month at 7 pm at the Rock House.  Any changes will be published on this website. To find out what happened at the meetings please click the Archive button on the left.

After the Basin Complex Fires, the Taskforce formed to make recommendations to government regarding emergency preparedness.

One of the first priorities of the task force is to establish a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT is a way for the community to be recognized by county, state, and federal authorities during emergency incidents. It is also a way for community residents to get important emergency training.

The work of the taskforce continues working with government on the protection of our community against wildfire and ensuring our needs are met by the various agencies charged with that protection.

We continue with the broader scope of promoting community projects in general in the Cachagua-Jamesburg areas.

One of our goals is to establish a broad community representation, neighborhood by neighborhood. Please let us know if you would like to represent your neighborhood.

• Sept 14-20: Community chipper shredding. FREE.
• June 20: Cachagua fiesta! Cachagua Community center. Live music. BBQ. Vendors.
• June 1 - 7: Community chipper shredding. FREE.
• April 12. Easter. Church Service 11 am - 12 pm. Egg hunt 12 - 12:30 pm. Community BBQ with live music 12:30 - 2:00. All at the Cachagua community center.
• March 20. Cachagua Church. 4 pm. The General Store.

2008

• December 13. Santa Fly-in. Carmel Valley Airfield. See Monterey Herald article.
• December 14, Tree Lighting Ceremony, 4pm-5pm. Cachagua Store. Join members of the Cachagua Church at the Cachagua Store to light up the Christmas tree. There will also be a play by the children. See Monterey Herald article.
