Notice from Monterey County Office of Emergency Services

October 20, 2008

The National Weather Service is predicting the first significant storm of the season, possibly bringing 1-2 inches of rain in wetter locations.A period of heightened risk exists within certain areas of the County through Wednesday, November 5. OES, the National Weather Service, and Water Resources Agency are monitoring closely for heavy rain in burn areas during the period of this storm.

Please keep apprised of this situation and heighten your level of preparedness for this event. The National Weather Service maintains two web addresses that provide valuable river and rain gauge data. They are:
